Bandaragama Heroin Raid: suspects to be questioned

Colombo (News 1st): The Panadura Magistrate has allowed the police up to 7 days to question suspects arrested during a raid in Bandaragama that resulted in the discovery of 192kg of heroin. The Peliyagoda Special Crimes Operations Unit seized 192 kilograms of heroin with a street value of Rs. 2 Billion from Bandaragama. Three people were arrested and two of them were women. Police first seized 15 kilograms of heroin when inspecting a suspicious vehicle on the expressway and detected a further 177 kilograms from a house in Bandaragama upon interrogation of the suspects. In addition, 10 Pistols and 19 Magazines were seized at the secondary location. The DIG in Charge of the Western Province Northern Division is spearheading the investigations.
