Colombo (News 1st): The Consumer Affairs Authority says that it has filed cases against five traders for selling face masks at higher rates above the stipulated prices. CAA officers have inspected more than 100 stores across the country.
She warned that action would be taken against traders caught for selling face masks above the designated price and for withholding stocks. Meanwhile, a team of 15 Consumer Affairs Authority officials are currently carrying out a survey on the masks which are on sale in the market.
Face masks have been unlawfully sold at higher rates in certain areas following the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
