COLOMBO (News 1st):- MP Namal Rajapaksa, speaking at a public rally held in Anuradhapura yesterday (January 25), said that his hope is to form a government led by Podujana Peramuna.
He says that in order to create a strong parliament that everyone should work towards creating a single government along with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. He further adds that as part of the next step they should be making this party which was created for Mahinda Rajapaksa and strengthened in a short time in Sri Lanka, to be the majority winning party in the parliament.
Meanwhile, several MPs and ministers representing the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna were seen openly criticizing the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and its leadership at public events held both yesterday and today.
UPFA MP, Roshan Ranasinghe speaking at an event held yesterday (January 25) said:
"The Sri Lanka Freedom Party is now saying that they will support us to obtain a 2/3 majority. That is very good. I believe that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party should help President Gotabaya Rajapaksa get a 2/3rds majority. Do not just wait to ask for the bigger share here. If the Sri Lanka Freedom Party contests separately they won't be able to secure more than 4 seats."
