Constitutional Council approves the appointment of Yasantha Kodagoda

Colombo (News 1st): The Constitutional Council approved the President's recommendation to appoint Yasantha Kodagoda as a Supreme Court Judge. The meeting convened at 1.45 this afternoon and was chaired by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya. The council was informed of the President's written recommendation and received approval today (Jan 24). At the same time, the Constitutional Council approved the appointments of Justice A. H. M. D. Nawaz as the new President of the Court of Appeal.
