Interdicted Magistrate Dhammika Hemapala appears at CCD

Colombo (News 1st): Interdicted Magistrate Dhammika Hemapala appeared before the Colombo Crimes Division earlier today (Jan 21) to provide a statement for his involvement in phone conversations with Ranjan Ramanayake. Statements from the judges are being recorded following instructions given by the Attorney General recently to the Colombo Crimes Division. Former Judge Padmini Ranawaka appeared before the Colombo Crimes Division yesterday (Jan 20) to make a statement on the controversial telephone conversation. The CCD also recorded a 5-hour statement from High Court Judge Gihan Pilapitiya on Sunday (Jan 19).
