Amnesty period announced for Army deserters

Colombo (News 1st): An amnesty period has been announced for the officers of Armed Forces, who Deserted the forces, to return to the Army. Under the directives of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the period will be in effect for seven days from the 5th of February. This will be applicable only to the members of the three armed forces who left the service before the 30th of September last year. Officers of the military will have the opportunity to legally leave or rejoin the military during this Amnesty period.
