Ranjan's request for bail rejected

Colombo (News 1st): Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake was produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate Court today (Jan 17). He was produced in court for the possession of 123 bullets and a firearm without a valid license. Attorney at law Udul Premarathne and Asha Kahawatta represented him at court today. However, Nugegoda Magistrate Wasantha Kumara postponed the case until the 7th of February. Meanwhile, the case filed over conversations where Ranjan Ramanayake allegedly influenced judges will be taken up on the 29th of this month. A motion was filed at the Nugegoda Magistrate Court today seeking bail for MP Ranjan Ramanayake. However, Nugegoda Additional Magistrate Harris Palpola rejected the request for bail.
