Fuel prices to increase?

Colombo (News 1st): Co-cabinet spokesman Minister Bandula Gunawardena on Wednesday said that the local fuel prices will be increased in line with the global fuel prices. “You should understand that the price should be increased,” Gunawardena said answering to a question will the government increase the fuel prices at the media briefing to announce cabinet decisions held in Colombo today (Jan 15). “We are not an oil-producing country and the current fuel price has been determined with the government bearing the losses. if we are purchasing oil at a higher price the people will have to pay for it, so the government will look into it and determine the price.”
