SLFP delays key meeting due to the absense of former President

Colombo (News 1st) - A special SLFP meeting that was scheduled to be held today was postponed due to a conflict that occurred when the former President Chandrika Bandaranaike arrived at the meeting. The meeting was due to begin today at 9 am with the presence of former President Maithripala Sirisena Just as the meeting was scheduled to begin former president Chandrika Bandaranaike arrived at the meeting. A few minutes after she arrived, Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara and Mahinda Amaraweera left the premises. Just as the party seniors left the premises, Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike also left the location. Journalists attempted to question former President Chandrika as she exited the SLFP head office,  but she only gave short answers and stated that no one had arrived for the meeting. There were mixes views being expressed from those that gathered at the SLFP head office today regarding the appearance of former President Chandrika. State minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya noted that she was not invited to the meeting as she worked against the SLFP that took a decision to back Gotabaya Rajapaksa. However, there were some organisers that welcomed the presence of former President Chandrika.
