FAKE NEWS: News on ATM's being hacked circulated with malicious intent

COLOMBO (News 1st):- Issuing a statement LankaClear said that it has been alerted by several banks and the general public with regards to a malicious message being circulated on social media stating that all bank networks have been hacked and to recheck the account balances. The statement said LankaClear wishes to inform the general public that this is a malicious message distributed by unscrupulous individuals with malicious intent to damage the reputation of the financial sector. It said that all the banks have confirmed that the ATM network of Sri Lanka is not compromised in any way and safe to use.
