South Korea to invest US$ 104 mn in maritime and technical academic institutions

COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Minister of Higher Education Bandula Gunawardena met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka Lee Heon at the Ministry today (December 24).

The meeting was focused on obtaining financial assistance to develop higher education and technical education in the country.

According to the Minister, around US$ 104mn is to be invested in maritime universities and technical training centres in the country.

Lee Heon, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka noted that they are ready to walk in Sri Lanka freely and wanted this meeting to be a great moment to both Sri Lanka and South Korea.

Bandula Gunawardana, Minister of Higher Education, Technology and Innovation warmly welcomed all of them and thanked them for greeting them with their presence.
