I will never forget Champika's support during the presidential election: Sajith Premadasa

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A public meeting was held in Bingiriya today under the patronage of Sajith Premadasa. The meeting was organized by UNP Parliamentarian, Nalin Bandara and politicians and the supporters in the area attended the event. Nalin Bandara noted that they would have to implement a programme targetting the next General election as well as the Presidential election. He added that Sajith Premadasa has to be in control of the party headquarters to steer them to the victory at the general election. He shared that there are people in this party that need to be removed, they are the ones who were rejected by the people and the ones who are tagged as thieves by the general public. He went on to note as long as they remain in the party, UNP will not be led to victory. He finally added that a standard democratic platform should exist to elect the leader and officials of the party and they needed to live in the hearts of the party supporters, not in the hearts of their leaders. UNP Sajith Premadasa: "We have to prepare for the next challenge to safeguard our parliamentary group. We are not going to split because of positions. There are many issues and criticisms. We hope to resolve all those issues through internal discussions. As a party, as a front, we have to think new. We have always been on the side of the country. Certain personal ideologies actually undermine the principles we truly believe in and other distorted ideas emerge. Political vengeance has increased because of our defeat. Therefore, friends, we must stand up for all those who are victimized by violence and Political revenge. Champika Ranawaka was actively involved in my election campaign. Sajith Premadasa will never forget the dedication of Champika Ranawaka for the presidential election campaign promoting him to the middle class as well as the Sinhalese Buddhist community."
