400 acres of Mahavilachchiya inundated

Colombo (News 1st): The ongoing adverse weather has led to the inundation of 400 acres of land in the Mahavilachchiya area in Anuradhapura. Farmers state that they are yet to receive any compensation in the face of the adverse weather. They requested that the Government provide such compensation at the earliest. News 1st's attempts to contact officials of the Agrarian Insurance Board regarding this proved futile.
