Kegalle court murder : 2 police officials interdicted

Colombo (News 1st): 02 police sergeants attached to the Kurunegala Police have been interdicted over the killing of a woman with a sharp object inside the Kegalle courtroom premises yesterday (December 17). Police said the two sergeants were suspended for allegedly not checking the people entering the courtroom premises. Police said a formal disciplinary inquiry will be launched against them. The ex-husband who carried out the stabbing was arrested by the police at the courtroom. The 36-year-old woman who sustained severe injuries, died upon submission to the Kegalle Teaching Hospital. The deceased is a mother of two boys aged 5 and 11 years.
