Legal action against over 1000 shop owners - CAA

Colombo (News 1st) - The Consumer Affairs Authority notes that legal action has been initiated against over 1000 shop owners following raids conducted during the festive season. Asst. Director of the Authority, Priyantha Wijeysinghe noted that legal action was initiated following raids conducted since the 15th of November. He noted that over 2000 shops were searched during the raids. Wijesinghe added that charges had been filed for inflation of prices, sale of expired goods and other charges The Consumer Affairs Authority is expected to continue its raids till the 15th of this month.
