March 12 Movement raises concerns about the appointed cabinet

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The March 12 Movement hopes the Government would take the necessary decisions on the political leaders, who were stained with the allegation in the recent past, and were offered ministerial positions, recently. Rohana Hettiarachchi, a member of the March 12 Movement said despite the Cabinet being reduced, it was alarming to note certain politicians who were charged with allegations, were appointed to State Minister positions. Manjula Gajanayake, another member of the March 12 Movement said it is wise for Parliament to discuss the Provincial Council elections when it is reconvened. Adding the movement represent Freedom of Speech, Manjuna Gajayanake raised concerns with regard to the CID questioning two web-based journalists within a period of two weeks. Rohana Hettiarachchi, a member of the March 12 Movement went on to note that there is a Public Representative for every 2225 people from the total population and the movement is engaged in discussions with all the political parties to change that number.
