Chinese projects to move ahead under "existing consensus"

Colombo (Sri Lanka) - Chinese news agency Xinhua reports that China and Sri Lanka have agreed to speed up the implementation of cooperation on major economic projects. The news agency quoting a statement by the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka stated that the two countries will speed up the implementation of cooperation on big economic projects, including the Colombo Port City and the Hambantota Port, under the existing consensus. The report adds that the two countries would, on this basis,  draw up and promote a new blueprint for future cooperation. The news agency further reported that China and Sri Lanka agreed to further strengthen robust political trust between the two countries and upgrade their pragmatic cooperation following the visit of  Wu Jianghao as a representative of Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi. During his visit Wu Jianghao called on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
