COLOMBO(News 1st) - Parliament has been prorogued with effect from midnight tonight. Parliament is set to reconvene on the 3rd of January 2020 at 10am. Earlier the Department of Government Printing confirmed to News 1st that they received the gazette notification to prorogue parliament. Government printer Ganga Kalpani stated that she had received the gazette notification bearing the signature of president Goatabya Rajapaksa.
