Colombo (News 1st): The Ministry of Health said a special dengue eradication program was launched this morning centering 06 districts in the country. National Dengue Control Unit Director Dr. Aruna Jayasekara speaking to News 1st said special attention will be given to Colombo, Gampaha, Batticaloa where the spread of dengue is relatively higher from other areas.

The three-armed forces will support the 06-day program to combat dengue. So far this year, 90 people died as a result of dengue with the number of patients reaching a staggering 73,000.
