1st Cabinet meeting set to take place today

Colombo (News 1st): The 1st Cabinet Meeting of the new government will take place this morning (November 27), under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Several cabinet proposals deemed urgent would be presented to the Cabinet and among them is the proposal to issue vouchers instead of uniforms for students for 2020. Additional Education Secretary M.M. Ratnayake said, since there isn't sufficient time to issue uniforms to school students, attention was drawn to issue vouchers for students instead. Meanwhile, the President's Office said the new State Ministers and Deputy Ministers are due to be sworn in before the President today. In addition, the new Ministry Secretaries will be appointed this morning as well.
