400 tuberculosis deaths in 2019

COLOMBO (News 1st) - During the past 11 months, 400 people have died of tuberculosis. Dr H.T.B. Herath, Director of the Tuberculosis Control and Chest Disease Unit of the Ministry of Health said, 7000 patients were reported this year. About 8,000 cases of tuberculosis are reported every year and about 500 of them die. The Director added that the main reason for the failure to control the disease is the lack of clinical examination faced by the patients.
