33 presidential hopefuls lose cash bonds

Colombo (News 1st): The cash bonds placed by 33 candidates who contested the recent Presidential Election was confiscated by the state. Commissioner-General of the National Elections Commission Sama Sri Ratnayake speaking to News 1st said cash bonds were taken over by the state as the respective candidates failed to secure the required 12.5% of the votes or more.
