Hiatus period to continue till final results are announced

Colombo (News 1st): As the polling closed this evening, Police media spokesperson SSP Ruwan Gunasekara convened a media briefing at the Police Headquarters. He noted that the Sri Lanka Police were able to provide maximum security to hold today's elections in a very peaceful manner. He added that no serious incidents were reported during the casting of votes. SSP Gunasekara noted that the hiatus period commenced 48 hours ago where the holding of public meetings, rallies were illegal. He said this period will continue until the counting is concluded and the final results are announced.
