Two people who attempted to bribe police officers remanded

COLOMBO (News1st):- Two people who had attempted to bribe police officers with Rs. 1000 has been arrested in Katunkenda, Negombo. The police said that a lorry that was plying from Naththandiya to Negombo had traveled without heeding orders to stop near the Katukenda road barriers. During this time, a cab that was traveling behind the lorry had told the police officers on duty at the barrier that the lorry was transporting cows and had attempted to bribe the officers. The police said that two suspects identified as residents of Jaffna and the cab were seized at that moment. The suspects were remanded till the 11th after they were presented before the Marawila Magistrates Court. The Dankotuwa police are conducting further investigations to apprehend the suspects and the lorry that had escaped the site.
