Bulbul cyclonic storm in Bay of Bengal likely to intensify

COLOMBO (News 1st):- Issuing a notice of warning, the Meteorological department says, the cyclonic storm “Bulbul” in the Bay of Bengal sea area is likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm during the next 24 hours. The Met department adds that the cyclone is expected to move north-northwest towards the coast of Bangladesh. The department also predicts heavy showers or thundershowers, very strong winds, and very rough seas and has advised the naval and fishing communities, particularly multiday trawlers, to refrain from venturing into the sea areas till November 11th. Meanwhile, the Met department said, showers or thundershowers, can be expected in several areas in the Western province and in the Galle, Puttalam, and Trincomalee districts. Further other areas across the island may also experience heavy showers after 1:00 pm.
