Colombo (News 1st): IGP Pujith Jayasundara, who was sent on compulsory leave, and Former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando who were arrested and remanded over the April Attacks, were further remanded until the 19th of November by Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage. When the case was taken up in the presence of Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne this morning, Deputy Solicitor General Dileep Peiris, appearing for the AG requested that the case be taken up in a different court as the Attorney General's stance and the Court's stance on the charges filed against the suspects differ. However, counsel for the suspects opposed this request. Dismissing the objections, the Chief Magistrate ordered for the case to be taken up at the Colombo Number Two Additional Magistrate's Court. DSG Dileepa Peiris further said the CID, the investigating body, had already recorded statements from 10 MPs and Ministers over the matter.
