COLOMBO (News 1st):- The 100th rally held to support Presidential Candidate Sajith Premadasa took place in Mahiyanganaya last evening (November 4).  MP Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka, Minister Harin Fernando and several others also attended the rally.

Speaking at this rally, the Presidential candidate of the New Democratic Front, Sajith Premadasa said;

“A set of media organizations with my opponent are now creating a rumour that Sajith Premadasa has agreed to some conditions. What are these conditions? Who imposed these conditions? Even when I was about obtain the candidacy, conditions were presented. I refused to accept them. I will not sell neither my country nor the nationality. I will not sell my religion. These media organizations are trying very hard to appoint who they want release those from remand custody. Thats their secret. I wasnt going to mention this. But circumstances are such, I had to say these things. They sling mud at Sajith Premadasa to release those in jail. Sling mud as much as you want. You can assassinate my character.”

Sajith further said that he has the strength to endure whatever comes his way and that if anyone is extending him support that it is something they are doing it out of their own free will. He says that he never begged anyone to support him and that he didn’t promise anyone this and that just to get their support because of which he can’t be criticized. He added that he has fufilled all his reponsibilities towards a sovereign and a unitary Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile Minister of Sports, Harin Fernando speaking at the rally said that when he was visiting the historic city of Mahiyanganaya, that he had recieved a call from the intelligence saying that Sajith Premadasa was ahead in the run by about 10%.
