COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Uva province governor Maithri Gunaratne has advised the provincial commissioner to seal premises of tuition classes which are not on par with the required standards.
He states that the decision was made due to the dengue epidemic spreading in the area. The number of school children in the province is 2,86,414 out of which 90% engage in tuition classes.
140 affected people in the province are currently receiving treatment at the Badulla hospital.
