Postal voting to be held today and tomorrow

Colombo (News 1st): The Polling of Postal Voting for the 2019 Presidential Election will be held today (October 31) and tomorrow (November 1). State sector officials that have qualified for postal voting except those in the Police, the Elections Commission and District offices, will cast their vote today and tomorrow. Police Officers, Elections Commission employees and District office employees will cast their vote on the 4th and 5th of November. The 7th of November has been declared as an additional day for postal votes to be cast. While 717,918 applications were submitted for postal voting rights, 659,514 have been accepted. 54,404 have been refused. The highest number of Postal voters at this election hail from the Kandy district (59,945 voters). The Elections Commission has announced that all preparations for the elections are already in order.
