NEC requests public to refrain from model elections

Colombo (News 1st) The National Elections Commission requests the public to refrain from holding model elections. Chairman of the NEC Mahinda Deshapriya noted

 that some private institutions and tuition classes have conducted pre-election polls and posted the results on social media.

The Chairman stated that it is contrary to the provisions of the Presidential Elections Act.
