COLOMBO (News 1st):- The leader of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Mahinda Rajapaksa participated in a public meeting held at the Governor's Grounds in Trincomalee today (October 26). The meeting was organized by UPFA MP Susantha Punchinilame. Several members including former Northern Province Governor Varadaraja Perumal and former Minister A.L. Athaulla attended the meeting. TNA MP of Trincomalee and Kadawathsaratha Divisional secretariat, Koneshan pledged his support to the SLPP. Speaking at the event Mahinda Rajapaksa says;
"They sold the Hambanthota port and have listed the Mattala airport for sale. Not only that they have already made drafts to sell the remaining plots of land and the port. They do not have a right to steal the opportunity of the unborn children of this country. This government received the support of R. Sampanthan and the TNA. That is why he was given the position of opposition leader with only 16 MPs. The JVP was given the position of the organizer of the opposition with only 6 MPs. They have made plans to sell off lands to foreigners till Colombo in the guise of creating an economic corridor. They are preparing to create an era in the country where the farmer of the country ends up being a labourer. They introduced the 19th amendment with the aim of taking revenge from us. They ended up taking revenge from the entire country. You must form a government to work for the country not to take revenge. That is why I said we want to accept everyone not to take revenge."
