Anuradhapura farmers distressed due to fertilizer shortage

COLOMBO (News 1st):- Farmers of several areas in the Anuradhapura district have been severely inconvenienced due to the shortage of fertilizer. Farmers claim the shortage of fertilizer prevails in several areas in the Anuradhapura district, including Horowpothana, Kahatagasdigiliya and Galenbindunu Wewa. Due to this shortage, corn farmers have not been able to use fertilizer for their crops on time. When News 1st inquired on the matter from the Assistant Director of the Agriculture Department of the Anuradhapura district, he said that they can only provide them with the fertilizer, that was brought for the next paddy season since there is not enough fertilizer.
