COPE report on 23 State Institutions to be presented in Parlimanet

Colombo (News 1st): A special report by the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) which details inquiries conducted into the activities of 23 state institutions will be presented in Parliament today (October 23). Committee Chairman MP Sunil Handunnetti, who will be presenting the report, said the report details inquiries conducted during the time period from the 1st of March 2018 to the 28th of October 2018. Institutions such as the Road Development Authority and the National Transport Commission were summoned to COPE over various investigations on a number of occasions. Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ananda Kumarasiri said the report compiled by the Special Parliamentary Select Committee appointed to probe the 21st April attacks will be submitted to Parliament today as well.
