I have no business with NGOs : General Mahesh Senanayake

COLOMBO(News 1st) - Presidential Candidate General Mahesh Senanayake made a revelation in Balangoda today (October 22). General Mahesh Senanayake of the National Peoples' Party noted that there were several posts against Muslim people immediately after the attacks in April and now it is not. He questioned why it does not occur anymore and answered that it was because people orchestrated them are engaged in election campaigns now. He added that it would come to play once again on November 17th. He added that Pillayan, Hisbullah or Hakeem all of them are engaged in the same thing. This statement was made by Gen. Mahesh Senanayake at a meeting held in Balangaoda for the Party representatives of the National Peoples Party. He also responded to some questions raised by journalists. Gen. Mahesh Senanayake stated that actually if they received financial aid from NGOs then they wouldn't organize such small scale meetings. He added that they do not have the financial strength which was gained through illegal means in order to organize massive public gatherings, and they are left with to organize small scale meetings. He again assured that he does not have any business with NGOs. Journalist: Would your party join hands together with the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna? General Mahesh Senanayake denied of such discussions however that they might have discussions following the presidential election in relation to the other upcoming elections. He finally added that they have begun discussions with other parties without surrendering to any conditions as their campaign is already set in motion. Those who want to join them have to help them lead the way.
