EU Election Observation Mission to begin monitoring

Colombo (News 1st): A contingent from the EU Election Observation Mission will commence activities from today (October 22) monitoring activities pertaining to the upcoming Presidential Election. The contingent consists of 30 members and they will monitor pre-election campaigns and activities which would take place, post-election. The National Elections Commission added, another group of 30 individuals who would be conducting short term monitoring on the method followed to carry out the Presidential Election, will arrive in the country on November 12th. Another contingent representing the SAARC union will also arrive in the country on the 12th, following an invitation by the National Elections Commission.
