COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Policy Framework of National Unity of the National People's Power Movement was launched in Negombo today (October 19).  The event was chaired by religious leaders and the Presidential candidate of the National People's Power Movement Anura Kumara Dissanayake. Speaking at the event he said:
"These days the most discussed topic on the political stage is the signboard of the Palali Airport. In the signboard, the text on top is in Tamil, while the text in Sinhalese is placed below that. Certain factions are trying to create an issue, and steer up a problem. How can we understand this? The language order used in signboards at the Palali airport is causing such a controversy in political stages in Sinhalese communities. However, when you visit Gotabaya Rajapaksa's election office in Jaffna, the text in their signboard is placed in the same way, with the Tamil text on top, and then the Sinhalese text. So this is to obtain votes from the Jaffna district, and the others are to obtain votes from the Sinhalese communities. We must reject such politics and politicians. Who will approve such things? In my view, we must present our manifestos. Everyone else hides these on the election stage. During the election season, they try to create racial issues. As a political party, we will always stand for the rights of all communities."
Also speaking on the party's policy regarding the national security of the country he said that;
"National security and its sustainability can only be established by strengthening national security. Many highly acclaimed generals have come forward, but they can only provide the type of security that will indicate it's not safe. However, we will provide security with the safe sign. Now that's the difference between us when establishing public security."
