Colombo (News 1st): The National Elections Commission says, 12,845 polling stations will be set in place for the upcoming Presidential Election.

Director-General of the National Elections Commission, Saman Sri Rathnayake said, it has been decided to deploy two police officers each to every polling station. The NEC added that the Police has been notified to conduct patrols at polling centres from time to time.

When we inquired from the Police regarding this matter, it added that a review is being conducted to ascertain whether more than 2 officers should be deployed at polling centres and if the need arises, additional personnel will be deployed.
