SLPP supporters boo SLFP members during rallys

COLOMBO(News 1st) - A tense situation erupted at two rallies of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna after parliamentarians of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party attended them. SLFP MP T.B. Ekanayake attended the rally organized in support of Presidential candidate of the SLPP in Yapahuwa today and the crowd did not react well for him. The response of the SLPP supporters when Parliamentarian Tharanath Basnayake attended an SLPP rally in Galgamuwa today did not turn out well either. Meanwhile, during a public rally in Galgamuwa, Presidential Candidate of the Sri Lanka Podu Jana Peramuna spoke of the importance of the SLFP stating that his father and S.W.R.D Bandaranayaka founded the SLFP following their resignation from UNP in 1951. He further added that SLFP and SLPP will boost their vote base to 70%. UPFA MP Dilan Perera shared his thoughts on the response the SLFP members receive after the coalition between SLFP and SLPP. He used a proverb to explain the situation and noted that the SLFP has to prioritize the survival before shame. He added that they would later focus on those who disrespect them after they have secured their survival first.
