Italy to support SL with technical assistance to produce electricity

COLOMBO (News 1st):- Italy is to provide technical assistance to utilize waste to produce electricity in Sri Lanka. The pledge was announced during a meeting between Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development Ravi Karunanayake and the Italian ambassador Rita G. Mannella. Further, the possibility of constructing a power plant that could produce electricity with nearly 100 - 300 tonnes of waste at has also been discussed during the meeting. The Minister noted that these activities will further strengthen the cordial relations between the two countries.
