Elpitiya PS election : Polls closed, results at 10pm

Colombo (News 1st) - Voting to select 28 members to the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha concluded at 4pm today. The poll which began at 7am this morning, was held across 47 polling stations. A total of 53,384 voters were deemed elible to excercise their franchise during the election. Galle District returning officer Somaratne Vidana Pathirana speaking to News1st stated that voter turnout at the election was around 70%. The elections commission expects to release the results of the Elpitiya PS election by around 10pm.
