Colombo (News 1st): The General Manager of Railways, Dilantha Fernando said train services are yet to be restored completely despite trade unions calling off their strike. He believes the situation will be back to normal by tomorrow morning (October 9).
The Sagarika train from Matara to Colombo operated at 5 AM today (October 8). Ruhunu Kumari which was scheduled to leave Colombo at 6.05 AM and the Galu Kumari which was scheduled at 6.12 did not operate on time. The Ruhunu Kumari was delayed by over 2 hours and left Colombo at 8.23 am
The Ragarata Rajina plying from Beliatta to Vavuniya arrived at the Matara Railway station at 9.20 AM. The train plying from Kandy to Matara and Kandy to Colombo ran on time as scheduled.
