SLFP to announce decision on Presidential election today

UPDATE : The President's media unit issuing a statement has informed media organisations that the media briefing which was set to take place at 11am today at the SLFP party head office will not be held. Colombo (News 1st) - The SLFP is set to declare their final decision with regard to the Presidential election later today. Media Spokesperson of the SLFP, Weerakumara Dissanayake speaking to News1st noted that the central committee of the party had vested the power to make the final decision with President Maithripala Sirisena. Dissanayake added that the SLFP's decision will be made public during a media briefing which will be held at the party Head Office at 11 am today. The SLFP central committee convened yesterday under the auspices of President Maithripala Sirisena at the President's official residence. According to our reporter at the location the meeting lasted over 2 and a half hours.
