Acting OIC and female Sergeant interdicted for misconduct of an inmate

COLOMBO (News 1st) - An acting OIC of the Kosgoda Police and a female Sergeant have been interdicted for allowing a suspect to drink alcohol while in the police cell. According to the police, the suspect, who had been arrested for the possession of heroin, was seen consuming alcohol inside the prison cell via a video shared on social media. Following police investigations into the incident, the acting OIC and female sergeant were indicted as they failed to carry out their duties. Further investigations into the incident are underway.
