"Economy of the estates is important" - Gotabaya R.

COLOMBO (News 1st):- The UpCountry Youth Convention organized by the UpCountry Youth Foundation was held in Colombo today (October 5). The event was held under the auspices of SLPP Presidential Candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa. The event was organized to support the Presidential Candidate of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and the event began with the arrival of Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Spouse of former Cricketer Muttiah Muralidaran, MPs and several others attended the event. Speaking at the event, Presidential Candidate of the  SLPP, Gotabaya Rajapaksa said;

The economic and development plan is a people-oriented one. It doesn't focus on one. The economy of the estates is important. So when we talk about it we should also talk about how we are going to improve their living standards. How can we improve their education? I propose such housing plans where we can build four houses in one land with a garden to play and a bigger space for their cultivation activities. These types of projects are what I suggest.

The presidential candidate also had a discussion with the youth who attended the convention.
