United Sri Lanka Friendship Association convention held

Colombo (News 1st): The special convention of the United Sri Lanka Friendship Association was held in Colombo this evening (October 4). Another phase of conventions organized by parties and organizations that support the candidacy of Gotabaya Rajapaksa was held at the Colombo Public Library Auditorium. Wimal Geeganage, chairman of the party declared his party's support to the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna contesting under the symbol of the flower bud. SLPP Presidential Candidate Gotobaya Rajapaksa, Basil Rajapaksa, and Mahinda Rajapaksa were scheduled to attend the convention. However, only Mahinda Rajapaksa attended the convention this evening. A proposal supporting Gotabaya Rajapaksa was passed during the convention and leader of the SLPP Mahinda Rajapaksa left the premises without addressing the gathering.
