Railway and University Non-academic staff strike continues

Colombo (News 1st) -  The strike action launched by the railway employees and the university non-academic staff is still underway. Today marks the 07th consecutive day of the strike action launched by the Railway Department. Railway Drivers, Guards, Station Masters and Supervisors are collectively engaged in this strike citing salary anomalies. Meanwhile, the strike action launched by the non-academic staff of state universities entered its 23rd consecutive day. Media Secretary of the University Trade Union Committee Saman Kariyawasam noted that they will hold discussions with the subject minister to resolve the strike issue.
