COLOMBO (News 1st) – The National Elections Commission had extended the period to accept applications for Postal Voting for the Presidential Election to October 4th. Although the deadline was set for today, the NEC had decided to extend the deadline following discussions.

The National Elections Commission stated that the decision was made considering the recent inclement weather and floods.

Postal Voting for the November Presidential Elections will take place on October 30th and 31st.
