Deadline for postal voting applications, today

Colombo (News1st) - Today marks the final day for accepting postal voting applications for the Presidential election. Postal voting will take place on the 30th and 31st of October. However, Director-General of the Elections Commission, Saman Sri Rathnayake noted that they might make a decision to extend the deadline, taking into consideration the strike actions launched by railway workers and other government sector employees. A discussion is due to be held today to reach a final decision on the matter.
