COLOMBO (News 1st):- General Secretary of the JVP Tilvin Silva commented on the present presidential candidates of the country at a recent event in Hambantota. He said that ever since the day that Gotabaya Rajapaksa was announced that they continue to hide their candidate except for occasional visits to the temple and an occasional voice cut when he leaves, he never comes before the media. Tilvin further said that if the media asks more than two questions from him that he will always lose his temper and that someone either Chamal, Namal or even Shiranthi has to accompany him on such occasions. He further said that it is a necessity to ask him questions which includes if he loves the country so much why he left the military and go to America in 93/94 when the war with the LTTE was at its peak. He further said that an officer of the military cannot just afford to walk out of the military unless he shows some weakness which unqualifies his service in the army. Tilvin questions the public how a sick person who was deemed unqualified to serve in the military can possibly take over the whole country and also if he loves the motherland so much, why he took citizenship in the US. "What do we want now? We do not have any ulterior motive, we are here to win. So we believe that it is the duty of the general public to help us win" - added Tilvin Silva.
