"Basil Rajapaksa is behind the wave of strikes" - Manusha Nanayakkara

Colombo (News1st) - UNP MP Manusha Nanayakkara alleges that the current wave of trade union actions spreading across the country is being masterminded by the SLPP. Speaking to the media in Colombo today he charged that the strike are being organised to fullfill the requests made by Basil Rajapaksa. Nanayakkara states that politicians in the country have fallen to a level where their satisfaction depends on the number of people inconvenienced, bet it commuters on a train, patients at a hospital or even children at schools. "This is a disgusting form of politics being practiced by the SLPP," the Galle district MP stated. He added that it is very clear that all the trade union leaders behind the strikes are SLPP trade union leaders and that their actions are being orchestrated by Basil Rajapaksa.
